In a situation like this, other champions would probably advise you to "keep telling yourself that". I, on the other hand, recommend you stop doing so; it'll only make it hurt more when you lose.

I was weak. I found every bloody excuse under the sun for my piss poor performances. I know that, I've admitted as much openly, so I'm not sure what you are bllody well trying to prove here.

But that has all changed. I dropped the excuses just like I dropped that out of date relic Doc. It was a crutch and it was holding me back. Now there are no more excuses. I failed at Mount Vesuvius because two men wanted it more than me. But I also succeeded in proving, to myself at least, that I still belong in the top tier of Full Metal Wrestling.

I won't let anyone make a victim out of me again because I am taking control of my own destiny. I will create as many victims as neccessary to ensure that I am never screwed over again and if I fail now it won't be because of anyone but Abel Steele.

Anywho, you're right, Abel - you had a damn good showing at Mount V. But the legitimacy that performance lent you, both as a competitor and as an FMW mainstay, was seriously hurt by what you did to Derrick and that rookie whats-his-bucket. Blindsiding an old-timer? Pulp-pounding a rookie? Yeah, that's really mature, top-tier-of-FMW behavior, sport.

I can't begin to tell you how much more seriously everyone takes you after that. Really - if anyone deserves a shot at the C-4 Championship, it's Abel Steele, Destroyer of Newbies and Oldies alike.

As for Abel, I don't recall ducking you. I just don't want to face someone who doesn't deserve a title shot. After all, I come into matches expecting to get the best from people.

Mount V did not show me that. I would hope that 13.2 would be different but alas, precedent, the theory is set.
