Pure wrestling is a facade, mate. There's nothing pure about it. The way it's precisely orchestrated, played out like a dancing routine, just doesn't cut it for me. A real fight... Hell, a real fight is a tumble. A smackdown. People scurry, people fall... It's not supposed to look pretty, because the only ones who grade you on your choreography is the audience. They don't bloody well matter in the long run. All you really need for a perfect 10 is a 1, 2, 3.

Good morning class. It appears we have a new student. Do make him feel welcome and not as dumb as he may or may not be.

As for his "pure wrestling is a dance" remarks, well it would appear that he has much to learn about the subject.

Pure Wrestling... It's like that portrait that looks stunningly beautiful yet no-one wants. It's too... perfect, mate. You know what sells art? Faults! Faults bloody well sell things, because life is one big fuck up after another. That's my problem with it. Now, tell me why this is not true. Be forewarned, though, I have a tendency to yawn and an inability to sit still while being lectured.

I don't lecture people one on one, that's just talking down to someone. I lecture in groups, or class if you will.


As to why it's not true? Well I could say that if you fail to plan you plan to fail. I could say that thus far, based on research I've done, your plan, yes you have one, is merely to be as disorganized and as unruly as possible.

But in all? I'll just say that the days of being good in one thing and succeeding in pro wrestling are long gone. You have to have skill in many areas, at least some working knowledge, you know?

Besides, nothing is perfect, Mr. Fox. I'm sure you'd know something about that, yes?

You misinterpret, much like teachers tend to do. Then you confidently say what you think to be the truth... much like teachers tend to do.

What's in a plan? Nothing can ever be random, ever, right,? Everything in the entire universe is working according to this plan and randomness is a myth the Arabs concocted, right? Much of this is apocryphal, and slightly racially insensitive, but I honestly don't care.

I never said that as a person, being faultier would increase your odds of winning. Act on impulse every now and again. Impulse is the new formula, mate. Routine will simply lead to the next Austin-minded person analyzing you.

As it were, no. There's always a place for random, impulsive behavior. Never said it wasn't. But there are some things that are predicated on structure and routine. Golf for instance.

What you are trying to say is that life itself, is more enjoyable if you live each day as it were your last, living in the moment, to hell with the next step. This, I can understand. But you see, wrestling is not something that you can be reckless in, unless you're a spot-monkey type and that's something that can be corrected and neutralized with a cranked up submission hold or a well-placed blow to the limb.

All I am saying, Fox, is that eventually if you want to make it here, you'll need more than your faults to get the job done.

For all your planning, in a street fight you take it as things go. When a fist swings at you, do you duck? Maybe. Do you duck twice? Who knows? Maybe you parry. If unpredictability makes me a bad fighter, then I suppose I'm very, very good at it.
