I finished third last season (ironically would have finished second if I had chosen to face Jaro instead of Slegna)

Join broski, as long as you got Bulbapedia you'll do just fine.

And as the senior player along with Slegna I didn't make it out of my pool, although that was many cuz I didn't play half my matches, but still, just go for it, its completely randomized and Pokemon Online, the simulator, tells you anything you need to know while your playin anyway

Well said Nick. And as for last season, PX screwed PX. I may end up posting a guide to Challenge Cup (aimed especially at newbies) in a few days as well, depending on my available time.

Just fine, if you take the time to at least casually learn moves and Pokemon and if you have access to Bulbapedia and a type chart.

And I'd like to get 12 if I could. But 10 will work. I'll give it a few more days.

Hang on now. Don't go signing me up just yet. I am still not one hundred percent I could make matches and whatnot. It sounds fun but my online time is a bit limited sometimes. If someone could elaborate a bit on the time frames for these matches then it would help me with the decision.

Everyone has a week to do their matches (Though Sleg's been known to be lenient at times depending on circumstances)

The matches are best 3 of 5 battles. Overall, that should be no more than an hour commitment a week. That time can also be split up over several days, for example you could do two battles on one day and finish the match some other day.

Plus what Nick said, I'm known to be rather lenient about the week deadlines, sometimes I'll give up to two or three extra days to complete the previous week's match.

Only ones you could have problems getting with are the Adams and PX due to time zone differences.
