| I've been on for hours now and still no sign of Bryson. I know it's just been bad timing, so hopefully when I wake up tomorrow he'll be online. Cause I'm beginning to fall asleep at my computer now which means sleep for me! | |

| Week 2 is finished gentlemen. As I noted to Nick 2 shortly after posting this week's schedule, it was all matches featuring Week 1 Winners vs. Losers. Good to see that not everything went the same way as Week 1. Here's the standings through Week 2: A couple of things to note... - I know Nick 2 said he was writing his match and wouldn't play Pokemon until he was finished, so I'll give him and Panzer a couple of extra days to sort that out. Until then, you will note that their battle is listed as a tie, which will hopefully be changed by the time Week 3's standings come out.
- Wins have been changed from 3 points to 2 points. This makes it easier for me to score (it's now similar to hockey) and ties will literally be equal to a half of a win. I still want to avoid ties as often as possible, though.
- Lastly, the tiebreaker system is as follows.
- Points
- Head-to-head
- Alphabetical (irrelevant by the end of the season, assuming no ties)
- Pokemon Differential (I know I said I wouldn't use this stat, but it's necessary if we have a three or four way tie)
Any questions, comments, or angry outbursts, let me know. Here's the Week 3 schedule: Ro vs. Bob Dylan vs. Nick 1 PX vs. Slegna Nick 2 vs. Leon Panzer vs. Edible BYE: Skyler You guys can still request byes from me right now, note that it will get harder to book them as the season goes on, so let me know early. Thanks and good luck this week, gentlemen.

| Seriously an awesome 5 game match against Bryson. All came down to that last game. His Hyperbeaming team against my hopeful critical hitting team.
Anyway is there going to be another thread that has the upcoming match cards on it?

| Want to know when I need to beef up my practice when I face you. And also to know when I'm going to demolish Skyler.
Also Pokeleague Master on average does it pay off to do speed & evasiveness increases and decreases, or is it best to just go all out attack?
Like what is the average speed stat for pokemon?

| I'll be getting home later today, I'm sure I'll catch you on le Facebook sometime Sleg. Also, I'd SERIOUSLY recommend doing out a fixtures table, when I ran WFL i made up the games week by week, and towards the end, it was impossible to avoid repeat matches for some players, so you may end up with people playing twice, and some not at all.
Also Leon, in CC I would recommend using minimize and double team whenever you can. It's banned in regular play, but here if the chance is there and you know you can survive, boosting evasiveness is usually worth it. Very Cheap to do, but worth it.
Speed boosting is usually a good idea too, but I'm not as sure in CC, where your pokemon are at random levels, even at +6 you may find yourself wanting a bit more pace. I tend to go for it when i have it and not much else going on for me, but in such a random metagame, It's hard to judge how useful it is

| I have the scheduling on a matrix in Excel that I'll update weekly. As long as I enter data properly, we won't have any repeat battles. Plus, I can adjust on the fly. Nick 2 already requested a bye for Week 5, and I know I'll need one sometime in August, so flexibility > rigorous scheduling.
As for boosting, it's a case by case basis. Really, it's the same thing as competitive play. If you can get a Pokemon in that resists attacks or is out there during a two turn move (Dig, Fly, etc.) or a move that needs a turn to charge/recharge (Hyper Beam, Skull Bash, etc.), go ahead and boost. But if you only have one, maybe two turns before the opponent kills you, go for the jugular and hope for the best, because your boosts will go to waste.
Double Team and Minimize are always nice, but once you see an opponent with a move that doesn't miss (Swift, Shock Wave, Aerial Ace, etc.) stop immediately, because you're wasting your own turns. As for Speed, it's pretty wide open. Given that not only are the Pokemon random, but the IVs and EVs as well, allows for a wide variation in the Speed stat. Average Speed in CC is probably 90-130 or so. I know it's a wide range, but use that as a benchmark. Take the time to look up Base Stats of your opponent's Pokemon and compare it to your own Pokemon's. But even then, nothing is guaranteed. Thanks to random IVs, random EVs, and level balance, a Pokemon with a base Speed of 60 could potentially outspeed a Pokemon with a base Speed of 100. This is just guesswork, but it wouldn't surprise me.
Another hint, and this could be the difference between a winning and losing battle, so listen up. Let's say that your Pokemon walls every attack that the opposing Pokemon can throw at you and the opposing Pokemon has no status moves. That is to say that the opposing Pokemon can't touch you. Even if you could potentially destroy the Pokemon in one or two hits, take the time to stat up before taking the opponent out, this may save you against whatever your opponent sends out next.
Also, make sure you look at the item attached to your Pokemon before you do anything, I don't know how many times I've boosted up and then realized that I'm Choiced. That means that not one, but TWO, of your Pokemon take damage that it shouldn't. Last thing, OHKO moves can change a game, but they only work when your Pokemon has a level that is GREATER THAN OR EQUAL to your opponent's level. It's pretty lulz when your opponent tries to OHKO you without noticing the level difference and then bitching at you about it.

James definitely got screwed over with his teams. Not the Pokemon themselves, but the movesets themselves.
