Why do people post "promo placeholders"? There's no penalty anymore (and it was a cheap way to try to avoid the penalty anyways), so there's literally no point in doing it.

It was to let my partner know I'm still posting a promo while I can edit the post and code accordingly via an easy transfer from Word.

I also do it to remind myself that a promo is due at some point today because I have a HORRENDOUSLY short attention span. I literally just stopped writing for 40 minutes because a particle of dust flew past my face and made me sneeze.

Here's a better question..why does it matter that badly to you?

I can just tell my partner in this thread that promo will be posted tonight/morning. Slightly after deadline,a s I have to work until 12:30am EST.

these are pretty much the same thing, looking at it. I mean thats all your doing is saying you have intent to edit that post sometime.

It's a method that's worked for me thus far. Every time I've posted the placeholder, I've posted a promo.

It's like tying a shoelace on your finger to remind you to take out the trash. It's really to psyche myself out and say "this needs to be done at a certain time..stop lagging".

It's the same idea I took and implemented to help me quit smoking..which is working. I've already significantly cut down from like ten-fifteen a day to literally three in the period of about a week.

The way the mind works is that if you write something down, you're more likely to do it and complete it.

But again..is this really hurting Slegna? Why does it really matter? Does he think I'm getting some kind of unfair advantage by posting "Promo placeholder"? I never did it to avoid getting the penalty before..it's something I just recently started.

That only technically works on certian learning styles. I'm the same as you De, if I write it down I don't forget and vastly increase my chances of doing it. Whereas other learning styles I end up just shitting the bed.

That being said with all the attention to the fact that you put up a placeholder I'm going to say chances are you won't forget.

Promo is posted, a little longer then I would have liked but it tells a good old 80's - 90's tale about how the TyranT came to be and what started the whole thing. I urge you to listen to the music provided with the promo, its what its all about really to give it the 80's feel I was hoping to achieve.

Oh to love deadline day!!

Work calls me in today with no warning so there goes the 2 hours I needed to finish before the deadline. Then get home and find out one of the dogs isn't eating and one of the cats is bleeding internally and comes out when he poos. So spent the arvo at the vet with the dog now eating but the cat either has a parasite or deformed organs. Anyway so after all of that I finally coded it and it's up!!

Did some editing to my promo, added a section to the end if anyone actually cares. I wanted to put that in the promo originally but I got rushed last night because the wife was home for a night and I would rather spend a little time with her than write (her dad is in the ICU on the other side of the state so she's in and out of town right now). However, she is back out of town so I beasted out a more Drew-like conclusion to end the promo in a better manner I think. If you want to read it (or reread), go for it. If not, meh.

NOTE TO EASTWOOD: I'm about to promo now within the next hour; I've the main bulk of my promo written out, I just need to go back and edit and stuff. How it coming on your end? The wii idea working out for you?
