Full Metal Wrestling
Five Year Anniversary Awards

The year of 2011 was a tumultuous one for Full Metal Wrestling, filled with twists and turns as we watched the rising victories and, sometimes, crushing defeats taking us on a ride of ups and downs. It brings us to the great effort that makes each individual piece of programming special that makes up Full Metal Wrestling.

The following are the nominees for FMW Show of the Year:

Full Metal Wrestling Ammunition 15.1

Full Metal Wrestling Corruption 14.1

Full Metal Wrestling Presents: Mount Vesuvius

Full Metal Wrestling Presents: Death Row IV

Full Metal Wrestling Presents: Ultimatum III

The results are calculated by a combination of a public vote combined with a peer and official score card to calculate a final score and all category winners. A perfect score is 50 points.

In third place is:
Mount Vesuvius
24 points

In second place is:
Ultimatum III
38 points

And the winner of FMW Show of the Year is:
Death Row IV
47 points

This year, Death Row IV featured a Battle Royal for what became the Television title, Gold Standard Wrestling continuing their crusade against FMW facing off against three men who would stand against them, The Tag Champions defending against the strong upstarts, Three brave men facing off against the Pack in a winner takes all ladder match for the Abandoned championship, a triple threat featuring some of the biggest names in FMW history, and a main event that has set the tone for FMW, leaving its foundations shaken and its morality fallen in its wake.

Full Metal Wrestling Five Year e25

25. Pure Extremist
Championships: FMW Television Champion (x1), New Era Heavyweight Championship (x1)
Starting the list off for FMW's 5 year e25 is one of the underdogs of FMW, Pure Extremist. Starting out in FMW during the early years, and the first run of New Era Wrestling, Pure Extremist came a long way. One of the true success stories of Full Metal Wrestling, Pure Extremist won the Television title on January 5th, 2010 and held the belt for five successful defences, holding the title until November 2010. His various programs over the years, including facing off against the likes of HavOc and his brother, have earned him the number 25 spot on our countdown.

24. Leon Caprice
Championships: FMW Abandoned Championship (x1), FMW Tag Team Championship (x1)
Leon Caprice is a man whos efforts helped see him towards a quick rise in FMW. He first rose to prominence as a team member of Crash Scene with Skyler Striker , winning the Tag Titles from HavOc and pushing them towards the height of the tag divisions. They successfuly carried the belts until tensions between the two members forced the team apart, and lead to Leons rise as a singles star. Facing off against people like Skyler Striker and Hannibal Frost for the Abandoned championship, he finally scored big by defeating then champion Seth Omega for the belt. His story has earned him a spot on the e25, coming in at number 24.

23. Showstoppa
Championships: FMW C-4 Championship (x2), FMW Television Championship (x1)
Coming in next is a man with a special history in FMW. The first man, and pioneer, to win the C-4 championship, Showstoppa has more of a merit than a fancy name for dropping belts. First besting CGS, Eclipse, and Dr. David Diabolical for the C-4 championship in its inagural match, he continued to enjoy success in his run at FMW, winning the C-4 Championship as well as the FMW Television championship. He set a pace early in Full Metal Wrestling and has earned a spot on our 5 year list at number 23.

22. Apostasy
Championships: FMW Abandoned Championship (x1)
Next on the list is the blue-collar champion, Apostasy. He spent time in FMW as a member of the Broken Saints before breaking big on his own. He earned a shot at the Abandoned championship from the fallout of the FMW Games and took advantage, winning the Abandoned title at Mount Vesuvius on March 9th, 2011, and carrying the belt almost a year, finally losing his championship in February, 2012. His memorable programs with people like Leon Caprice, Jack Eastwood, and his Pack, have earned Apostasy a spot on our greatest of our first 5 years at number 22.

21. War Machine
Championships: FMW Ultraviolent Championship (x1), FMW Television Championship (x1)
Another man with a long history in FMW, the War Machine was the first ever Ultraviolent champion, setting the tone for the red brand early in FMW's existance. While his reign was short, he was consistently one of the top names on any card, facing off for the Ultraviolent and Full Metal Championship. He later won the Television championship, further helping cement his standing in FMW, earning him a spot on the list at 21.

The following are the nominees for FMW Match of the Year:

Tyrant vs Hannibal Frost

Full Metal Wrestling Championship Match

Drew Michaels and Hannibal Frost vs Nick Bryson and Tyrant
Tag Team Match

Alex O'Rion vs Anwyl vs Christian G. Smitten
C-4 Championship Match

Together Demons (MASS Caesar and Harlequin) vs Gray Inferno (Damien Inferno and Nicholas Gray) vs Gold Standard Wrestling (Leviticus and Jonathan King) vs Comeback Kids (Bobino and Slegnadamus) vs New Broken Saints (Seth Omega and Rampage!)
FMW Tag Team Championship Match

Your New Gods (Nick Bryson, Mark Johansson, and Matt Ashburn) vs Sons of Attrition (Leon Caprice, Hannibal Frost, The Celt, and David GS)
War Games Match

Every match has a story leading into it that makes it special, but some matches are unique stories in themselves. Some feature many, some feature just two, but there are always the ones that leave us the most impressed. From singles matches, to tags, to the most extreme environments to technical wrestling spectaculars, these are the award winners for FMW Match of the Year

In third place is:
Alex O'Rion vs Anwyl vs Christian G. Smitten
C-4 Championship Match
20 Points

In second place is:
Together Demons (MASS Caesar and Harlequin) vs Gray Inferno (Damien Inferno and Nicholas Gray) vs Gold Standard Wrestling (Leviticus and Jonathan King) vs Comeback Kids (Bobino and Slegnadamus) vs New Broken Saints (Seth Omega and Rampage!)
FMW Tag Team Championship Match
32 Points

And the winner of FMW Match of the Year is:
Your New Gods (Nick Bryson, Mark Johansson, and Matt Ashburn) vs Sons of Attrition (Leon Caprice, Hannibal Frost, The Celt, and David GS)
War Games Match
48 Points

The feud between Bryson and Hannibal raged on as Bryson assembled a unit to combat the Sons, while Hannibals teammates rallied behind him. In the lead up to the match, Bryson continually used various twists and turns revealing his teammates and using clout to influence everything possible going into the match, until authority figure P. Thurston Deveraux announced that should YNG lose, they must forfeit any titles, including any belt possibly held by their secret fourth man. YNG then duped the world when the match seemed won by the Sons when David GS entered the ring, changing the odds from the 3 on 3, but shifting the power towards the opposite side as he planted his Sons of Attrition teammates in the center of the rings and joined up with Bryson, Johansson, and Ashburn, leaving the rest of the world shocked as they left the ring and stood atop the ramp.

20. X
Championships: FMW Ultraviolent Championship (x1), FMW Television Championship (x1)
Coming in next is the monsterous X. Notorious in FMW's history through his pairing with St. Michael Dreamkiller, X has paved a path of destruction through many competitors. He first won the Ultraviolent Championship in controversy and his association with Dreamkiller helped elevate his status high. He would eventually win the Television championship while facing off against some of the legends of our halls including Jaro, John Derrick, and Drew Michaels among others. This has given us the honor of placing X at number 20 of our all time list.

19. The Cancer (Matt Dunn and Cactus Sam)
Championships: FMW Tag Team Championship (x1)
The first tag team on our list is arguably one of, if not, the best. The team of Cactus Sam and Matt Dunn, collectively known as The Cancer, paved their way through the tag division, bringing the belts to a new relevance. Their reign was a dominant one, facing off against the likes of Doc and Skyler, The O'Rions, and others before eventually losing the championships. These two helped set a new standard for teams and have earned their way onto our list at number 19.

18. Andrew O'Rion
Championships: FMW Tag Team Championship (x1), FMW Television Tag Team Championship (x1), FMW Television Championship (x1)
Entering the list is a man who has had a long history with FMW. One of the first names on the card, Andrew O'Rion has always been surrounded, and some may say marred, by controversy. His early association with the O'Rion family brought him early success, earning shots at some of the most prestigeous belts in FMW including the Full Metal Championship, but his association with HavOc and Harlequin is what brought him the most noteriety. He helped bring HavOc recognition by winning the FMW World Tag Team Championship and winning the Television Tag Championships in a merger match, unifying the two tag belts. He was also a dominant television champion, defending his title against multiple comers including the Celt, whos program against HavOc is still discussed. Andrew has definately earned his spot on the list, coming in at number 18.

17. SoCal Connection (Korran Halycon and The Sublime)
Championships: FMW Tag Team Championship (x2)
When tag teams are discussed in FMW, the standard that they are held to is the one set by the SoCal Connection. The first tag team champions in FMW made the tag scene a difficult one as they crushed almost everyone in their paths. Paving the way for tag wrestling in FMW, these two were consistently atop their game, defeating 4 other teams to earn the belts, and defending them against quality teams like Homicide and Eric Scorpio, both of whom went on to become Full Metal Champions. Their legacy is a difficult one to live up to for most teams and though they created their legacy in the early years of FMW, it is a testament to them that they are still discussed, which brings them to their spot on the list at number 17.

Full Metal Wrestling has often been noted for setting the standards of entertainment, constantly pushing the limit of what can be done and what is thought possible. Epic battles for the soul of FMW as the Resistance faces off against the Original Sin. Heroic Underdogs facing off against corrupt men because it is what must be done. The shocking twist of the FMW Games, masterminded by evil thinkers. Our history is a long one with much happiness and heartbreak and this year was no different.

The following are the nominees for FMW Noteworthy Moment of the Year:

David GS turns on the Sons of Attrition in the Death Row main event, joining forces with YNG

Christian G. Smitten gets Jaro fired from his position and removed from FMW.

Tyrant retires after Ultimatum III

Nick Bryson defeats Hannibal Frost in the Main Event of Ultimatum III, winning the Full Metal Championship

Christian G. Smitten defeats Chris Austin for the C-4 belt on No Holds Barred

And the award winners for FMW Noteworthy Moment of the Year are.

In third place is:
Christian G. Smitten defeats Chris Austin for the C-4 belt on No Holds Barred
18 points

In second place is:
Christian G. Smitten gets Jaro fired from his position and removed from FMW.
34 Points

And the winner of FMW Noteworthy Moment of the Year is
David GS turns the Sons of Attrition in the Death Row main event, joining forces with YNG
50 Points

Nobody saw the shocking turn of David GS as he quickly turned the tides against his now former teammates in FMW by joining up with Nick Bryson and the rest of YNG and shifting the power to the now four men. His actions helped trigger a chain that would change the face of FMW and left his fingerprint on FMW history forever, which is why this has earned the award for the most Noteworthy Moment.

16. Syanide
Championships: FMW Television Championship (x1)
Coming in at 16 is the Walking Hate Crime, the Sadistic Skinhead Syanide. Arguably one of the most hated superstars in FMW history, he proved himself dominant, especially as the FMW Television champion, defeating the likes of John Derrick, Christian G. Smitten, and Eric Scorpio among others during his reign as champion. He constantly pushed the limits both in and out of the ring, becoming a staple of the hardcore society on Anarchy before continuing his assault on the roster by pairing up with HavOc. Syanide proved to be one of the best, which is why he has earned a spot at number 16.

15. The Celt
Championships: FMW Ultraviolent Championship (x1)
The true feel good story of FMW, the Celt was one of the first participants to join developmental fed New Era Wrestling and eventually went on to personify it, being a member in the first ever New Era Heavyweight Championship match. The Celt went on to prove his worth beyond NEW as he held memorable feuds aganst HavOc with his brother, Pure Extremist, with the Sons of Attrition against YNG, and even against his own brother. He finally helped usher in a changing of the guard when he finally won the Ultraviolent championship, a belt which many would say was waiting for him. The Celt is a unique figure in FMW history, truly a fantastic representation of the federation. His emotional story has helped elevate him on our list of best of all time, finding him at number 15.

14. Skyler Striker
Championships: FMW Abandoned Championship (x2), FMW Tag Team Championship (x1)
Skyler Striker is another success story. Coming out of his noteworthy program with Tyrant in New Era Wrestling, the two continued their storied rivalry on Anxiety as Tyrant won the Abandoned Championship, only to be dethroned by Skyler. Skyler then set the standard as Abandoned champion, becoming a cornerstone of FMW. He went on to win the Tag Team championships with his friend, and then rival, Leon Caprice, and his great matchups against the likes of Tyrant, Leon, John Derrick, and others have earned him his spot at number 14 on the list of greatest of all time.

13. Hostyle
Championships: Full Metal Championship (x1), FMW C-4 Championship (x2), FMW TNT Championship (x1)
Coming in at 13 is a man who paved the way for technical standards and innovation in FMW. Hostyle is a man who was in FMW from its early days, quickly gaining noteriety for his Hostyle Hit-List and the H-Style Points, the True Artist has been a driving force in FMW for years. His C4 runs, including merging the belt with the TNT Championship, were historic and his Full Metal Championship reign was inevitable, not to mention his associations with the Innovative Initiative and the NME have left a mark. The man who helped push the people of FMW through innovation and competition has earned his way onto the best of all time list at 13.

The stories of FMW is what makes our programming great. Our History has seen the rise of greats like Drew Michaels and Nick Bryson, helping to lead the Resistance. The rise of Tyrant and his storied feuds against Skyler Striker and Romeo Vizzini. The evil Jaro leading the Original Sin, or cancelling the winning brand in the FMW Games. Christian G. Smitten helping to save FMW by removing a vile tyrant, the rises of men like Chris Austin, Eric Scorpio, Apostasy, Leon Caprice, and more.

The following are the nominees for FMW Storyline of the Year:

Chris Austin vs Alex O'Rion

Nick Bryson and YNG vs Hannibal Frost and SoA

Jaro vs Christian G. Smitten vs Jack Eastwood

Apostasy vs Eastwood and the Pack

Drew Michaels vs TyranT

And the award winners for FMW Storyline of the Year are

In third place is:
Drew Michaels vs Tyrant
26 Points

In second place is:
Jaro vs Christian G. Smitten vs Eastwood
30 Points

And the winner of FMW Storyline of the Year is:
Nick Bryson and YNG vs Hannibal Frost and SoA
50 Points

This year saw many people achieve great things, but Hannibal Frosts surprising title win was one of the best. That is, until Nick Bryson won the Mount Vesuvius torch later on the same night. The two men would clash as rivals leading into the main event of Ultimatum III, where Bryson and Frost squared off on the match where Bryson's mind games leading into the match helped him edge out Hannibal center ring. Bryson continued his crusade against Frost as he assembled a group around him, Your New Gods, to try and fight the odds the four men of the Sons of Attrition had. This culminated in a match at Death Row where the Sons, united against this new force, found themselves betrayed by one of their own as David GS joined forces with YNG.

12. Ethan Black
Championships: Full Metal Championship (x1)
The first Full Metal Champion. Thats all you need to describe Ethan Black. His dominant run at the top, coupled with his Black Covenant, helped lay a foundation for people to continually push the bounds of morality. Though Blacks reign of terror was set in the early years of FMW, he still is not forgotten mainly because of his matchups with people like Drew Michaels, Andrew O'Rion, Alex O'Rion, and others. His legacy is controversial and has brought him the 12 spot on our list.

11. Hannibal Frost
Championships: Full Metal Championship (x1), FMW C-4 Championship (x1), FMW Abandoned Championship (x1)
A man who has continually defied the odds, showing up at the most opportune times and walking away with championships. Hannibal Frost has continually been an upset pick in FMW, cementing his status from cagey upstart to legitimate contender. His victories over people like Hostyle and Tyrant, as well as his long list of titles contended for have made him an important figure in our history. His association with HavOc, Sons of Attrition, and not to mention memorable feuds with the likes of Nick Bryson, have cemented him just outside of our top ten, but earning him the eleventh spot on our list of best of all time.

10. Eric Scorpio
Championships: Full Metal Championship (x1), FMW C-4 Championship (x1)
If we're talking about surprise contenders, look no further than Eric Scorpio. He won his Full Metal Championship by taking it from the hands of then champion Drew Michaels in a match that was one of the more shocking of the history of FMW and elevated his status quickly. He also won the C-4 Championship after it was removed from Drew, and the two rekindled their rivalry. Scorpio would associate with Original Sin, becoming one of the biggest heels in FMW and his program with Drew Michaels, and against the rest of the Resistance, helped cement his legacy as one of the best, earning him the number 10 spot for our best of all time.

9. Alex O'Rion
Championships: Full Metal Championship (x1), FMW Tag Team Championship (x1),
Up next is Alex O'Rion, a perennial main eventer since Full Metal Wrestling's inception. Since his start on the very first card Alex has done nothing but move up, featuring feuds against the likes of Ethan Black, working with the Resistance against the Original Sin, Drew Michaels, and Nick Bryson. He won his most emotional championship, the Full Metal Championship, at Ultimatum II and his Tag Team Championship with Chris Austin. He's been a consistent contender and a mainstay on Alchemy/Ammunition. He's truly earned a spot in our list without question, and he's been awarded with number 9.

For all the discussion about the great stories told in Full Metal Wrestling, it takes even better storytellers to make those stories great. The emotion and effort placed into them is what makes us not only attached, but amazed. From honorable law men, grizzled veterans, egotistical big-shots, to insane psychos and intense teachers. It is with that we take the time to award some of the best storytellers of our time as we present the award for the Promo of the Year.

The following are the nominees for FMW Promo of the Year:

Tyrant

vs Drew Michaels (Ultimatum III)

Nick Bryson
Mount Vesuvius (Mount Vesuvius)

Apostasy
vs Leon Caprice (Ultimatum III)

Harlequin
vs Christian G. Smitten and Chris Austin (Death Row IV)

Chris Austin
vs David GS (Ultimatum III)

Christian G. Smitten
vs Harlequin and Chris Austin (Death Row IV)

And the winners for FMW Promo of the Year are:

In third place:
Chris Austin
vs David GS (Ultimatum III)
28 Points

In second place:
Christian G. Smitten
vs Harlequin and Chris Austin (Death Row IV)
33 Points

And the winner of FMW Promo of the Year is:

PostSubject: Re: FMW Year End Awards and 5 Year e25!   FMW Year End Awards and 5 Year e25! I_icon_minitimeWed Mar 14, 2012 3:10 pm

8. Chris Austin
Championships: FMW C-4 Championship (x1), FMW Tag Team Championship (x1)
Ranking just ahead of his tag team partner is the intense Chris Austin. A perrenial top card name in FMW currently, the former Superstar of the Year is one that rose through the ranks, quickly changing from a man who was pushing himself to make a name to a man who makes everyone else push themselves to match his. Austin has become one of the top talents in FMW history and his position on this list is not one that is unearned. His alliance with Alex O'Rion and their toppling of Crash Scene, his C-4 victory over Drew Michaels, and rivalries with some of the best of our time including names like Christian G. Smitten, Drew Michaels, and Abel Steele have cemented his legacy that he continues to build upon today. Coming in at number eight, Chris Austin continues to move his way up.

7. Harlequin
Championships: FMW Ultraviolent Championship (x1), FMW Tag Team Championship (x1)
Coming in at lucky number seven is the penultimate mad man of FMW, Harlequin. This character has undergone what could possibly be one of the most drastic changes in FMW history and, like the man listed before him, grew from lackey to trendsetter, garnering the respect, and sometimes fear, of everyone in FMW. His reign as Ultraviolent champion is arguably the one remembered the most through any champion, and his programs with people such as The Celt, Jaro, Drew Michaels, and Chris Austin have earned him a vast reputation. Most recently, he won the Tag Team Championship with his then teammate MASS Caesar in a surprise victory. He is often considered the mastermind behind HavOc and their path of destruction, working together with Andrew O'Rion specifically. Many opponents often looked to make their name off of this psycho, but most of them only ended up looking foolish, but if you ask Harlequin, not every joke is meant to be funny.

6. Christian G. Smitten
Championships: Full Metal Championship (x1), FMW C-4 Championship (x1),
Fitting, perhaps, that Christian G. Smitten comes in ranked ahead the two men he faced, and defeated, at Death Row IV in a match truly for the ages. Another man who rose up the ranks of FMW from young upstart to full scale legend, Smitten was involved in many memorable moments in FMW history. His early association with Jaro and the Original Sin, his feud with Jack Boice and Baby alongside his daughter Kelsey, and his rivalries against the likes of Drew Michaels, John Derrick, and Chris Austin, including winning his C-4 championship over the man, have truly made this 'honorable' man captivating. He won his first Championship cashing in his gold card on John Derrick, instantly elevating himself to the top of the card where he remained ever since. While he was often involved in some controversial moments and has, at times, been revered or hated, there has only ever been one Christian G. Smitten and thats why he comes in at number 6.

Full Metal Wrestling is a unique landscape in the often times chaotic world of federations. This place has always been a proving ground for countless different talents. It is one of the most ultimate tests in wrestling today, and not everyone can make the cut. Those who do, however, generally accomplish more than almost anyone else on a grander scale than thought possible. While many people come and go, not everyone makes a mark. Those that do, however, do so through determination to succeed where others can not, and strive to make themselves the best of the best. Tonight we help honor some of those people who strive to accomplish these efforts and recognise the most improved.

The following are the nominees for FMW Most Improved Talent of the Year

Jack Eastwood

Abel Steele

Apostasy

Nicholas Gray

Anwyl

And the winners for FMW Most Improved Talent of the Year are:

In third place:
Apostasy
24 points

In second place:
Nicholas Gray
36 points

And the winner of FMW Most Improved Talent of the Year is:
Anwyl
45 Points

Anwyl had come a long way from his early days, where he spent countless shows struggling to find a direction. However, his quick rise was found when he showed a strong footing in the Mount Vesuvius match and then his singles matches and feud with Alex O'Rion helped put the spotlight on a man some considered in over his head. He quickly gained the composure and confidence to accompany his raw talent and found himself competing for the C-4 championship among the likes of some of our federations greats like Christian G. Smitten. Love him or hate him, Anwyl has truly earned this distinction.

5. John "Doc" Derrick
Championships: Full Metal Championship (x1), FMW Ultraviolent Championship (x1)
When trying to find a standard bearer to set an example of, you would be hard pressed to find people who wouldn't include Doc on that list. A man who has continually impressed everyone with not only the quality of his talent, but the relative ease he seemingly accomplishes with it, makes it hard to not place this legend in the top five. Another man on the list who has been a mainstay since FMW's inception, being on the first card, he first rose to prominence facing off against the man some would call his greatest rival, Jason Roy. It was during this feud he won his first championship, the FMW Ultraviolent belt, against the likes of Drew Michaels and X, and won his Full Metal Championship as a prominent figure in the Resistance, defeating the Original Sins own Eric Scorpio for the belt. His recent feuds with the likes of Abel Steele and Skyler Striker show that the man's span has not lost a step, continually facing the best and brightest of past and present. Doc has been a mainstay atop the card for what seems like his entire life and because of this he has earned position number five.

4. Jaro
Championships: FMW Ultraviolent Championship (x2)
Coming in at number four is the often controversial founder of FMW, Jaro. He is a contender that has truly set the standard for performers as he boasts many victories and championship runs. The man who had the midas touch, he instantly demanded attention whenever he was present and whomever was there. His feuds are the stuff of legend, going back to his long program with Nick Bryson and his cousin Drew, leading the Original Sin against the Resistance, his rivalry with John Derrick, Christian G. Smitten, and the Celt, leading all the way to the surprise cancellation of Distortion, Jaro's 'Gift' to the winning brand of the FMW Games. Truly a sadistic madman, there are few moments of import that don't have this mans fingerprints on it. One of the most successful performers of any generation, Jaro has rightfuly earned this spot in the greatest of all time.

FMW Year End Awards and 5 Year e25! Empty
PostSubject: Re: FMW Year End Awards and 5 Year e25!   FMW Year End Awards and 5 Year e25! I_icon_minitimeWed Mar 14, 2012 11:55 pm

Full Metal Wrestling has had many iconic wrestlers come through their halls, but just as importantly they have had as many iconic tag teams. In 2011, tag teams took on a bold focus again, paving the way for new stars to rise. While there may be periods of ups and downs, Full Metal Wrestling has definately strived to not only showcase but innovate tag team wrestling. This year was no different as a deep tag team roster strives to join the ranks of the unforgettable teams we've had in the past, like the SoCal Connection, The Cancer, SPARTA, The Wayward Sons, Crash Scene, and many, many others.

The following are the nominees for FMW Tag Team of the Year:

The Gray Inferno
Nicholas Gray and Damien Inferno

Together Demons
Harlequin and MASS Caesar

Gold Standard Wrestling
Leviticus, Jeff Whitt, Jonathan King, Matt Dunn, and Sean Jensen

The Comeback Kids
Slegnadamus and Bobino

Super Mega Ultra Team
Son of Shark Boy/Sharpedo King and STORMMASTER

And the award winners for FMW Tag Team of the Year are:

In third place:
Gold Standard Wrestling
Leviticus, Jeff Whitt, Jonathan King, Matt Dunn, and Sean Jensen
20 Points

In second place:
Super Mega Ultra Team
Son of Shark Boy/Sharpedo King and STORMMASTER
30 Points

And the winners of FMW Tag Team of the Year are:
The Gray Inferno
Nicholas Gray and Damien Inferno

50 Points

A year ago few people would have taken Damien Inferno and Nicholas Gray seriously. Seen as servants to others or jobbers to all, this changed when they teamed together in the tag scramble at No Holds Barred, becoming the last two eliminated, making others take notice. Their loudest noise followed at the next event when, at Ultimatum III, they rose from a pile of four other broken teams in a broken ring to become FMW Tag Team Champions. Since that day the Gray Inferno have gone undefeated, both in tag team and in singles matches, with opponents being flattened by the team's mixture of high flying action and crushing power. With teams like GSW, SMUT, The Pack, and more under their belt now, Inferno and Gray have broken everyone's perceptions of them, and if they continue as they have been, they most definately will cement their legacy as one of, if not, the greatest tag teams of all time.

3. TyranT
Championships: Full Metal Championship (x1), FMW Abandoned Championship (x1), New Era Heavyweight Championship (x1)
How do you begin to tell the story of the Tyrant? First getting attention with his skills and noteworthy feud against Skyler Striker in NEW, Tyrant was moved to Anxiety where he quickly became one of the shows, and FMW's, focal points. His ability to captivate helped usher in a new age of FMW talent, ironic considering his age, and he helmed a new wave of superstar that took FMW by force. His feuds against the likes of Skyler Striker, Romeo Vizzini, Drew Michaels, and Hannibal Frost have done more than cement his status as a legend. Already solidified by being the longest reigning Full Metal Champion of all time, he continued to push the bar for excellence as made apparent by his victory in Mount Vesuvius and his title wins over the likes of Hostyle, Romeo, and Doc among others. This man is a true grizzled veteran, and has more than justified his placement at number 3.

2. Nick Bryson
Championships: Full Metal Championship (x2), FMW Ultraviolent Championship (x1)
Sometimes loved, sometimes hated, but always noticed, Nick Bryson has cemented his legacy in Full Metal Wrestling history. Beginning his journey tagging with his cousin Drew Michaels in SPARTA, Bryson helped lead the Resistance to a victory over the Original Sin, and one of his greatest rivals, Jaro. Bryson would often times find himself struggling to escape the enormous shadow of his prolific cousin, but found himself doing so when he won the Ultraviolent championship, then went on to become Full Metal Champion. Bryson entered Ultimatum II beloved, but returned from the event hated, going on a personal crusade against his former teammate Drew Michaels. Winning Mount Vesuvius, Bryson became the first person ever to main event two consecutive Ultimatum events, as well as becoming the first and (as of this writing) only man to win the Full Metal Championship twice. Bryson's feuds with icons such as Jaro and Drew Michaels, his current association with YNG and position in FMW, as well as historic rivalries with the likes of John Derrick, Christian G. Smitten, Hannibal Frost, and others have cemented his legacy firmly in our books, earning him the number two spot.

PostSubject: Re: FMW Year End Awards and 5 Year e25!   FMW Year End Awards and 5 Year e25! I_icon_minitimeThu Mar 15, 2012 12:23 am

There are special few in FMW that make it past the marker we celebrate now, but for those who have they have shown courage, dedication, and in some cases a lack of self regard. Through rough times and bright spots, the life of a rookie is not often one that is glorious. Especially for those among our ranks. The rookies in FMW are the ones who have both the curse and blessing of being the future of FMW, its new blood in a cycle that few can complete. Tonight we do more than just speculate on the future as we award the best of the newest with the FMW Rookie of the Year award.

The following are the nominees for FMW Rookie of the Year:

Anwyl

Son of Shark Boy/Sharpedo King

Matt Ashburn

Jonathan King

Seth Rotunda

And the award winners for FMW Rookie of the Year are

In third place:
Son of Shark Boy/Sharpedo King
24 Points

In second place:
Anwyl
35 Points

And winner of FMW Rookie of the Year is:
Matt Ashburn
50 Points

In a year with one of the largest and deepest rookie classes ever, Matt Ashburn shined the brightest out of many who may well be the future. Ashburn first made waves entering the federation strong, quickly rising up the ranks by way of talent and his words, eventually challenging the seemingly undefeatable David GS for the television title. Ashburn shocked FMW when he defeated David for the television title, defended it against GSW at Ultimatum, then shocked the world once more when he not only joined up with Nick Bryson and YNG, but gave his title away in the 'fingerpoke heard round the world' to his now teammate Mark Johansson. Matt has moved upward in the fed quickly, and made everyone take notice. While he still has a bright future in FMW, one cant help but notice how much he has already accomplished, and no opponent should be taking this rookie lightly.

1. Drew Michaels
Championships: Full Metal Championship (x1), FMW Ultraviolent Championship (x1), FMW C-4 Championship (x2)
In what should come as shocking to nobody, the number one position on the e25 of FMW's first five years goes to the man who personifies not only what it is to be good, but arguably FMW itself. Drew Michaels quickly rose from osbcurity to star, accomplishing amazing feats including facing, and besting, some of FMW's best on his way to titles and glory. Defeating the likes of X, John Derrick, Christian G. Smitten, and Ethan Black, this former Full Metal, Ultraviolent, and C-4 champion has become synonymous with the federation. First gaining noteriety winning the Mount Vesuvius torch, Drew capitolized on his momentum by defeating then champion Ethan Black and becoming an overnight hero, though nobody would have thought it would have turned into a storied history that would be so iconic. His union with his cousin Nick Bryson in SPARTA helped elevate his status as he, with his cousin at his side, lead the Resistance to triumph over Jaro and the Original Sin. His feuds and matchups are the stuff of legend, and when asking someone about the most important or impressive feuds of all time, chances are they would mention at least two of Drews. His rivalries versus Jaro, Smitten, Doc, Tyrant, Austin, and Bryson, among others, have helped pave the foundations for FMW to being what it is today. Drew is consistently a measuring stick for all performers past and present, and will continue to be so long into the future.

FMW Year End Awards and 5 Year e25! Empty
PostSubject: Re: FMW Year End Awards and 5 Year e25!   FMW Year End Awards and 5 Year e25! I_icon_minitimeThu Mar 15, 2012 12:44 am

Every year each participant in Full Metal Wrestling strives to be that one person who defines that era. The man who tries to capture the minds and emotion of not just fans, but of their fellow peers, in their attempt to become the greatest. Full Metal Wrestling has truly had some giants come through these halls throughout history and many men have not only pushed the limits, but changed peoples perceptions of what could be done and changed visions of what talent could do. It is often difficult to try and determine who exactly is the one who has set themselves above the rest through their hard work and effort, and this year it is no less difficult. It is with this being said that we introduce the nominees for our final award. The award for FMW SuperStar of the Year.

The following are the nominees for FMW SuperStar of the Year:

Hannibal Frost

Apostasy

Nick Bryson

Christian G. Smitten

Chris Austin

And the award winners for FMW SuperStar of the Year are:

In third place:
Christian G. Smitten
23 Points

In second place:
Apostasy
35 Points

And the winner of FMW SuperStar of the Year is:
Nick Bryson
50 Points

In a year with so many noteworthy moments, many of them were founded by the hands of 'Sir' Nick Bryson. His reemergence at Mount Vesuvius and victory kickstarted a ride that saw him feud with Tyrant, add more pages to his long history with Drew Michaels, main event his second consecutive Ultimatum with Hannibal Frost, and exit with his second ever Full Metal Championship. Bryson's biggest splash may arguably be when he formed Your New Gods, and has subsequently left chaos in his wake ever since. First by recruiting Matt Ashburn and Mark Johansson, then by debuting his fourth man, David GS, in a match that saw David help Bryson crush the Sons of Attrition. While that match was technically Nick Bryson's only loss of the year, he continued to stay in control, becoming the owner of the second broadcast hour of FMW Corruption, renaming it Anarchy (its predecessor) and proclaiming himself the General Manager. With the example that is all that is behind Bryson, who knows what else the future holds.

Interesting. I was gonna say "Wow. How did YNG get all of the honors except one(or two)? LOL. Craziness".

I made the list! WOO! It was nice for a trip down memory lane. Good job. I feel as though FMW is lacking something: graphics.

Hey, if you want to do them, there'd be no complaints. Right now, it's supposed to be Anwyl, but he's not been on in forever (hope he's okay). I wish I could do them, but I have neither the talent nor the time to acquire said talent (working 60 hours a week these days, and I'm still writing 4 matches + 2 segments for Lethal Injection).

As for YNG, this list might have had some "recent memory" bias, but I don't think there's any award that stands out as undeserved for YNG. At least from the reactions from the live chat, people really seemed to be surprised and loved the DGS turn, so I don't have a problem with it earning some rewards. I think you've said something to the extent that it didn't impress you that much, Chris, but I think you're probably in the minority there, judging both by the voting for this and by the reaction during that chat. That accounts for like 4 of the awards, of course. Ashburn was a good pick, since this was a 2011 list. Sharky and Anwyl have since won major titles that might have put them over, but this was a 2011 thing.

Bryson winning SSOTY isn't a big shock to me. YNG has been a big angle for a lot of people, and he's got a few big accomplishments too (Torch, FMC). The only person I expected to rival Bryson for this was Smitten, who had a monster year. Austin, as great as he is, 2011 wasn't his year as his biggest match was a loss to CGS. Austin's 2010 was better, and 2012 figures to be more "his" year as well. I'm shocked that I finished second, despite the technical merits I had (undefeated save for the Mt V match, that awesome Abandoned run), I've never really considered myself anything more than a midcarder in any fed. So I'd like to thank everyone that voted for me here... it means a lot to me.

I would absolutely love it if you wanted to do graphics for us. And if you could work as a team with Shock (Kuruk), Slegna and/or Anwyl that would be lovely as well. I think it's always good to have a backup guy if your primary guy is busy or whatever.

If you want to be part of the graphics team, you're absolutely welcome to it. Consider this an invite. I'll give you the permissions and whatnot when I get back from training. Hopefully that team also includes some other guys as well. That's not a knock, I'll be honest in saying that I've always thought your graphics were the best I've ever seen, it's just that if I've learned anything here over the last 8 years, it's that having a backup plan in e-fedding is always a good idea.

On a side note, this is also one of my big concerns with the staff situation here, that we don't have enough guys that we can rely on for a match in case someone else flakes out. Right now, those matches generally end up in me and Bryson's lap, and we have less time for it now that we're both employed full-time. If I get through this training, I really don't know that I'll have the time to write the 4 or so matches a show I've been doing for the better part of a year now. We absolutely need some more people to step up for the federation to continue churning out shows. The only other guy I know I can rely on for taking extra matches is Nick Gray (who I take every opportunity to publicly praise for his continued commitment here). We absolutely need more people like Nick Gray.

Edible, you don't have to defend YNG's picks.

Bryson deserved SOTY. No doubt about it. Same for Ashburn. Although I'm not sure how Anywl won Most Improved and was in the running for RoTY. Expected Most Improved to go to someone like, I don't know, Nick Gray.

SoA v. YNG had no choice but to be angle of the year, a lot of energy went into that angle, more than any other if you ask me.

DGS' turn, IMO, wasn't the biggest moment of the year. I'd go with Jaro getting fired or something. That was much more impactful on FMW as a whole.

The War Games match was actually really great but I hated the ending. Problem is, there wasn't a superbly strong field to choose from. Not gonna lie, I was kinda disappointed to not see RCA v. DGS at U3 or RCA v. CGS from NHB. I thought those were two great matches that I wrote. But if that's not how the rest of the people see it, then no big deal.

Promo of the Year was... hmm, as good as Bryson's promo was, it shouldn't have won Promo of the Year. But I guess since it won the biggest match of all the other nominees there was no choice.

Long story short, I may not agree with all of the award winners but I can easily see a case made for them. Just not how I would have went, and I'm only one guy. No big deal.

I agree with this.

Though I think it mostly has to do with most people voting were too young to remember THE ORIGINAL HOOLIGAN NM SAVANT. Or Ketsueki Shigai for that matter.

Ketsueki fucking Shigai.

Then again, I'm biased cause I like me alot.
